Hello, thank you for stopping by! My name is Rose, and I am a grade 4 brain cancer survivor. There are many cancer patients who survive cancer in general, returning to a similar life before cancer showed up. Unfortunately, I am one of those who have had a complete life change.
Before we found Ulga (my brain tumor), I was in medical school to become a doctor who could help others. I gathered thousands of hours of shadowing, medical scribing, and even a pre-med internship in Nice, France. After being accepted, I worked as hard as I could to succeed in medical school. Come to find out that I had a tumor slowly growing right over my speech and short-term memory areas on the left side of my brain. Obviously, I was the top student.
Just kidding! I started to fail, over, and over again. I even was even diagnosed with ADHD during that time. That made sense to me and my friends and family. No one thought for a second that Ulga decided to hang out with me until she showed up on an MRI. I am no longer a medical student. I am a brain cancer survivor. I hope to share my story and interact with others who have these road trip detours, whether they are short-term or even permanently changing their whole lifestyle.
